The Panpatia Glacier connects Kedarnath and Badrinath, two of India’s most respected pilgrimage sites, at a breathtaking height of 17,257 feet. The most seductive legend surrounding the walk was that priests and sages could complete the journey from Badrinath to Kedarnath in just one day.

Challenging Trek

The Panpatia Glacier trip, one of Uttarakhand’s most difficult hikes, puts your endurance and willpower to the test. Starting at Badrinath, the Panpatia Glacier journey eventually ends at Nilkanth Khal. Some of the most beautiful campgrounds and meadows can be found there, sitting on the tranquil banks of glacier lakes. A carpet of colorful plant species spreads out, captivating the senses. Itinerary

Day 1 :

Delhi – Haridwar - Rishikesh

Go to the Delhi railway station in the morning, then depart for Haridwar at 06:50 a.m. As you arrive in Haridwar, take a taxi to Rishikesh, where you can check into a hotel. The evening is free for recreational pursuits. Hotel stays for the night.

Day 2 :

Rishikesh - Joshimath (1875m)

Drive to Joshimath through Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Chamoli in the morning after breakfast. During lunch, we'll make a stop at a restaurant. Check into the hotel after arriving at Joshimath. Hotel accommodation for the night in Joshimath.

Day 3 :

Joshimath - Badrinath (3,133m)

Drive to Badrinath after breakfast in the morning. Check into your hotel upon arrival and then visit the well-known Badrinath shrine. After arriving, we will walk for 20 minutes to get to our campsite. Spend the night in the camp.

Day 4 :

Badrinath - Shepherd camp

We will walk to the Shepherd Camp today. The tree line, which is indicated by several flags on the boulders, is where we will ascend. Our campsite is located where there are scenic views. Spend the night in the camp.

Day 5 :

Shepherd camp - Snout camp

We'll be traveling over a variety of terrains today. To get to the Panpatia glacier's snout, we'll be doing everything from easy ascents to challenging climbs. Spend the night in the camp.

Day 6 :

Snout camp - Moraine Camp (4300m)

We will be traveling for a longer distance today, although it will be a gradual ascent. We'll be passing through snowy spots and over moraines. We will be rewarded for today's efforts with breathtaking vistas of the majestic Himalayan Mountains. Stay the night at Moraine Camp.

Day 7 :

Rest & Acclimatize (4300m)

The day will be left for resting and acclimatization. Overnight stay in the camp.

Day 8 :

Moraine Camp - Base of Parvati Col

Today, our trek will be to the base of Parvati Col via the Panpatia Snow Field. The trekking trail has steep inclines. We shall camp just below the Parvati Col. Overnight in Camp.

Day 9 :

Base of Parvati Col - Panpatia Snowfield – Camp I

After breakfast, we'll climb to the terrace's edge, where the only way up is by a rocky, snow-covered valley. Chaukhamba Peak will be visible to us, and if we're lucky, we might catch a glimpse of the stunning Nanda Devi Peak. Spend the night in Panpatia Snowfield.

Day 10 :

Camp I - Across Panpatia Col (5260m) - Camp at Sujal Sarovar (4750m)

Today we shall traverse through a snow plateau to reach Panpatia Col. Ahead is a steep descent that leads to the Madhyamaheshwar watershed. We will camp overnight near the small lake of Sujal Sarovar.

Day 11 :

Sujal Sarovar - Kachni

After breakfast, we'll go to Kachni, which is accessible by traversing boulder- and slope-filled areas and ascending through a narrow pass above Sujal Sarovar. Our campsite has a view of the Madhmaheshwar Ganga, and you can see Guptkashi's lights and the temple down below. Spend the night in the camp.

Day 12 :

Kachni - Nanu chatti

We will walk for three to four hours to the Madhmaheshwar temple. After visiting the temple, we'll stop by a tea shop for lunch. After lunch, we'll travel through the woods to a little hamlet of holiday cottages for residents of the Gaundhar settlement of Nanu Chatty, where we'll set up a tent. Spend the night in the camp.

Day 13 :

Nanu Chatti

Drive to Rudraprayag and see Nanu Chatti Ransi. We will descend through pine forests on this final day of hiking to reach the Madhmaheshwar Ganga bank. In Ransi, when our trip comes to a close, we'll drive to Rudraprayag. Hotel stays for the night.

Day 14 :

Rudraprayag – Haridwar

Delhi Drive to Haridwar after breakfast via the confluence of the Devprayag, where Bhagirathi and Alaknanda are embraced. Following arriving in Haridwar, go to the train station where you will board the 18:05 AC train to Delhi. Reaching Delhi at 22:45 hours.
