Anurag Ramola, a class X student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, ONGC, Dehradun, Uttarakhand has been conferred Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Purasakar, 2021 for his achievements in the fields of art and culture
‘It is a great honour to be given this award by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself. My family and I are very happy. The phone has been ringing non-stop since morning with my principal, teachers, and friends everyone congratulating me’ he said.
His work was also displayed at Talkatora stadium in New Delhi last year when he explained his painting to PM Modi and Education Minister “Nishank”.
As per him, he has been awarded 19 international awards, 38 national awards, and over 70 state and district award so far.

PM Rashtriya Bal Puraskar
The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar was formerly known as National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement, it is the country’s highest civilian honour to exceptional achievers under the age of 18.
The award is conferred by the President of India during the Republic Day in the Durbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, where the most prestigious civilian honours like the Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri are also presented.
The award for Individuals comprises of a medal, cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000/- each, a citation, and a certificate.
PM Rashtriya Bal Puraskar is given in the following categories
- Innovation
- Social Science
- Arts and Culture
- Scholastic
- Sports
- Bravery
This year, PM Rashtriya Bal Puraskar has been awarded to 32 children from across the country for their over the top achievements throughout the year. 7 from Arts and Culture, 9 from the field of Innovation, 5 for their Scholastic achievements, 7 from Sports category, 3 for their Bravery and 1 for contribution in Social Service.
President Ram Nath Kovind said, “I am hopeful that Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar, 2021 would not only motivate the winners but will also encourage millions of other young children to dream, aspire and stretch their limits. Let us all do our personal best to take our nation to a new zenith of success and prosperity.
